QUEEN CHARLOTTE YACHT CLUB

BOAT STORAGE

Indoor Boatshed Storage is only available for Junior classes - Optimist, O'pen Skiff and Starling.

Outdoor Compound Storage is available for a small number of adult single handed classes - Laser, OK etc

Temporary Storage is available on the deck next to the club, this is only intended for those who wish to leave their boat at the club for a few days.  It is not a long term solution as we have experienced damage to boats, the clubhouse and parked vehicles from boats that have blown off the deck.

  1. Demand for storage is always high and priority will be given to juniors in the coaching programme or those racing at the club regularly.
  2. Boat Storage is allocated by the Racing Secretary. No boats may be stored on the boatshed floor with the prior approval of the Vice Commodore or Racing Secretary.
  3. Your storage bay must be kept clean and free of rubbish. Do not store any object in your bay that infringes neighbouring user’s access or bay space.
  4. All personal and club equipment must be stored neatly away e.g trolleys stacked, hoses coiled and hung up in shed etc.
  5. Take care of other people’s boats when moving your own. QCYC is not responsible in any way for any damage or loss incurred while boats are stored in the boatshed and your boat should be insured.
  6. Ensure the boatshed is locked before launching or leaving.
  7. QCYC reserves the right to ask you to remove your boat if it is not being actively used or if fees haven’t been paid by 30 November of the current season.

SELLING YOUR BOAT?

Feel free to list your boat on the QCYC BUY, SELL, SWAP Facebook page.

  1. If your boat is stored at the club during this period, you are responsible for paying any storage fees.
  2. Once your boat has been sold please update the Club Secretary with details of the new owner so that we can update our records.
